Two-Sample T-Test Calculator

Sample size and power for independent group comparisons (Welch’s t-test)

This calculator uses Welch’s t-test, which does not assume the two groups have equal variances — the more common situation in practice. Power is computed exactly via the non-central t-distribution (using the Welch–Satterthwaite approximate degrees of freedom), and sample size is found by searching for the smallest n that reaches your target power.
